1-Days to Weeks

Long ago. In better days
I lost my way to make you stay

It seems so far, from where we are
I lost my right to see so far

I’m lost in waves, of passing days
I’m standing on a shore that’s washed away

And I’ll play the fool
And carry the tune
Until there’s nothing left to hold on to

Days to weeks to months to years
Somehow can I stand the tears of what coulda been
And what shoulda been

All this time I fought the fears
That I wash pushing daisies and just maybe, you’d say
That it all doesn’t matter anyway

The love it fades, fades away
In a haze of better days
And when you say, go away

And I can’t help thinking that it’s about me
What about the future I see
All I care is that I see you smile

The absence makes the heart grow fonder
The presence makes my knees get weaker
I’m standing on a shore that’s washed away

And all of the things you said about me
Of all of the things I could and might be
I’d leave it all behind if you would stay

Days to weeks to months to years
Somehow can I stand the tears of what coulda been
And what shoulda been

All this time I fought the fears
That I wash pushing daisies and just maybe, you’d say
That it all doesn’t matter anyway

The love it fades, fades away
In a haze of better days
And when you say, go away

And I can’t help thinking that it’s about me
What about the future I see
All I care is that I see you smile

2-Shitbag(aka You've got yours, and I want mine)

The years they have blown through me, like I’m living in a book
They just had to call me crook, for the things that I took
I stand here making faces at the mirror on the wall
Do I dare to make the call, would I be the same at all

I wanna take a part of
All the things that you have done
So that I can have some fun
My toes drenching in the sun

I know you probly hate me ‘cause the damages are done
I just knew I was the one
And god damn it was so fun

You’ve got yours, and I want mine
So I’ll take, what I find, and be on my way

I wanna keep the good part
Of the image you have of me
That I won’t take it for free
And that it isn’t just for me

The mirror in the bathroom tells the lies I wanna hear
That you want to find me near
To the things you hold most dear

You’ve got yours, and I want mine
So I’ll take, what I find, and be on my way

I wanna get mine cause you’ve got yours
And the way you smile makes me want more
Temptation gets the best of me, it doesn’t matter that I won’t be free

Would you look down on me differently, if I tell you that it was not me
Can I tell a different story, with the things that I say?

Right or wrong I must go on, making friends and being strong
If you know the truth about me, before you tell the story I’ll be gone
I’ll be gone, I’ll be gone, I’ll be gone

3-Crackhead Fred

Crackhead Fred let it go to his head
It started at a gateway or so they said
He can’t control the fears that he’s had for years
It’s only a problem until he’s dead

Crackhead Fred he made his own bed
The gateway it broadened to what they said
The fears he had for years turned water to tears
Makes all the difference when you party instead

He says that moderation is the key
As if he had the right to tell me
He said that he would always make good
As if I really thought that he would

Crackhead Fred didn’t mean what he said
He burned all his bridges to those he called friends
He went and disappeared, I ain’t seen him in years
It’s only a battle when you fight your own fears

He says that moderation is the key
As if he had the right to tell me
He says that he would always make good
As if I really thought that he would

Crackhead Fred had a war in his head
He looked up and he found salvation instead
In 12 steps of weird he conquered his fear
And swore to his maker that he was misled

4-The Boobie Song

In my time, I’ve seen a few
Pairs of lovelies that weren’t on you
It’s my dilemma you could call it a curse
That I am stuck on what’s in your shirt

Cuz I like boobies, and you have two
And I really like them cuz they’re on you
My daddy told me, ‘bout the birds and the bees
But he didn’t tell me there would be these

You’ve got your breasticles and lady lumps and tatas and baby bumps
I don’t care what you call them
Howitzers and honeydews, hindenburgs and grapefruits
I just want to hold them

And when you smile, I just admire
The nipples on your face that I desire

Cuz I like boobies, and you have two
And I really like them cuz they’re on you
I’ve got this problem, I’m such a flirt
When I get busted talkin to your shirt

You’ve got your fried eggs, gumdrops, molehills and mountain tops
I don’t care what you call them
Tits, boobs, milk sacks, cannon balls and nipple backs
I just want to hold them

And you might think, I’ve got no class
Cuz I don’t focus my attention on your ass

And that’s a whole other song by the way…….

(Cmon, play me something perky and tittilating)

Cuz I like boobies, and you should too
When they are standing in front of you
It doesn’t matter, if they’re big or small
The simple fact is. We love them all!

5-Sanctuary

There was a time
When I was so blind
To where I would find
You, On my mind

I - Stand alone
Without you,
On the phone

So – Many times
You- Have been too kind

Cry me a river
That I follow home
Back from the ocean
Of being cold alone

She’s my sanctuary- Kind of makes me feel like it isn’t real
She knows where to find me- When I’m standing toe to toe with my own fears
She’s my sanctuary- When I find myself alone
She knows where to find me- When I find myself so far from home

I tried to find
You – on a sea of fools
I – lost all direction
When you turned around

Fate – it has a lesson
Don’t stop confessing

She’s my sanctuary- Kind of makes me feel like it isn’t real
She knows where to find me- When I’m standing toe to toe with my own fears
She’s my sanctuary- When I find myself alone
She knows where to find me- When I find myself so far from home

6-Martyr

To all the lovers of this world
You are the martyrs of my cause
You ring that bell a hundred times
There is no answer to your pride

And you fight the good fight
Even though you’re never right
And you never lose your faith in your love

And you put it all at risk
You can’t even make a fist
And would you use it anyway to defend
Your love

To all the lovers of this world
You are the martyrs of my cause
When you can’t keep a heart from flight
And something tells you that it’s right

I live only in a dream
And it’s never what it seems
And I stand here wishing I could not see
You live only on a dream
Even though it doesn’t seem
That the grass is ever green in the fields
Of your love.

To all the lovers of this world
You are the martyrs of my cause
That bell it rings a hundred times
Making you wonder if you’re right

And you lie there in wait
For an uncertain fate
And you’re told It’s just too late to save
And your heart is in your hand
And Oh wouldn’t it be grand
If your better half would take a chance
On your love.

To all the lovers of this world
You are the martyrs of my cause
I hold the dream that you don’t have
Your chance will come don’t let it pass
You by……

7-Time on the Vine

Lazy by the moon
Rain is coming soon
The grass it has told, I am old

Lazy by the trees
Falling like the leaves
Our time on the vine has come and gone
Our time on this vine has come and gone

You said it was me, that made you wanna be
Tied on this vine forever mine

And when you fall from this vine
I’ll be right behind you, it’s just a matter of time

I said I would do all these things for you
And we have grown old, the story’s told about the hands we hold
Can I do it again? I wish I could but wouldn’t change a thing

And when you fall from this vine
I’ll be right behind you, it’s just a matter of time

8-Hold a Candle (An open letter to insanity)

I did not know the reason but you said that you were leaving
and you took all that we had – In a day
Did you think the world would change ‘cause you exist on fear and rage
All you made us do – was pray

And did you have to take with you the innocence and faith of youth
Standing on a soapbox made of lead
You took from us the right to think that we could stand and fight
The evil that runs loose in your head

I hold a candle in my hand, because I do not understand
Why you are the way you are, and why you took it all so far

Is it fair to say that we had lost you in a day
Did we lose you in the fray, from day to day
You did not put a stop to what was tying you in knots
And the evil changed my world – in a day

And isn’t it a shame that you would hold on to the fame
Purchased by the names you don’t know
Don’t give up to losing to the fear that you been using
To justify the voices you obey

I hold a candle in my hand, because you did not understand
All that makes us who we are, and all the good we’ve done so far

I hold this candle to prevent, the human cost that you have spent
And if you think you’ll go so far, kill the darkness in your heart

I cannot hold a candle to the  pain that you can’t handle
Or the places you have been, in your head
All I ask is that you fight the evil things you think are right
We are not the reason you can’t stay.

9-Slowdown

Six AM gotta get up and go
Grab a cup a coffee and hit the road
Gotta go gotta go gotta get there fast
Push it to floor and do my best
Seems so slow, going up hills
If I don’t get there in time
I don’t pay my bills

Cruising Speed of a hundred and ten
Can’t slow down around the bend
Gotta go gotta go gotta get ther fast
Push it to the floor and do my best

Seems so slow goin up hills
If I don’t get there in time I don’t pay my bills

Slow down, slow it down
Get my feet back on the ground
Slow down, Slow it down
Faster than the speed of sound
Gotta go gotta go gotta get there fast
If I don’t get in time I don’t sit and relax

What do you know it’s smokey the bear
Gotta slow down and I’m almost there
Gotta go gotta go gotta get there fast
Push it to the floor and do my best
Seems so slow goin up hills
If I don’t get  there in time I don’t pay my bills

Slow down, slow it down
Get my feet back on the ground
Slow down, slow it down
Faster than the speed of sound

Gotta go gotta go gotta get there fast
If I don’t get there in time
I don’t sit and relax.

10-Dictators Fall

Far be it from me, to point out the things I see
Can I feed my family tree, can I make my country free
Pretend that you were me, in the face of all I see
Would you be the same were it not for class and fame

Far be it from me, to point out hypocrisy
With the rebels screaming high and the soldiers asking why
Can you take a folded page, from the book of fear and rage
When you’ve got us in the cage, bringing on the wars you wage

Where will you run to? Where will you run and hide?
Who will protect you from the masses justified?

The portraits that you paint show you like you were a saint
As if all that you’ve acquired gives you rights to be admired
We make the point so clear cause we live and hope and fear
All the things that you would do for the purses of the few

Solutions you will hold, pretending to be bold
But your policies will fold, cause you’re weak and false and old
Far be it from me to point out hypocrisy
Of the money of the few on the backs of me and you

Where will you run to? Where will you run and hide?
Who will you turn to, when the apathy subsides?

Will you stand and fight?
To protect the human right, of all that we can do when things are fair?

The balance looses sight, when you are always right
When the masses fight for scraps and you don’t care

You are not a god, you are not a saint.
The world can’t see you for the man you ain’t
When the books are written on the stands you take
It won’t make a difference what you had at stake

I am not a thug, I am not a thief
Just a man who’s looking for some kind of relief
If we stand and we preach on democratic belief
Can you close on the flow of information we leak

We are not a mob, we are not of hate
I want a population of a different fate
Turn the table on the fable maybe you can relate
To the hopes and the dreams that I love and create

We will stand and wait, for the other fate
Far be it from us to reciprocate all that you have done to try and keep us down
All we want to do is take the higher ground

Where will you run to? Where will you run and hide?
Will your money protect you when your name and past collide?
